If you are interested in serving on the Town’s Planning Board, please call the Town office and ask that Joe Verdi, Chairman, contact you. He will explain what is involved in serving on the Board. There are currently two vacancies. (Town Board Appointed)

Commit to helping the community implement a climate action plan….
The Town has taken a Climate Smart Pledge and the Planning Board and Comprehensive Planning Committee have completed an Action Plan with the assistance of Central New York Regional Planning with regard to energy use, greenhouse emissions and preparing the community for the effects of climate change. The Plan has been adopted by the Montezuma Town Board to:
- Set goals, inventory emissions, and plan for climate action.
- Decrease community energy use
- Increase community use of renewable energy. Realize the benefits of recycling and other climate-smart solid waste management practices.
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the use of climate-smart land-use tools.
- Enhance community resilience and prepare for the effects of climate change.
- Support the development of a green innovation economy
- Inform and inspire the public.

Become a member of the Montezuma Fire Department…
The Fire Department needs volunteers who can help make sure we have emergency fire and safety coverage for the town. Please let one of our Fire Department volunteers know you are interested, or attend a meeting at the Fire House on Monday evenings, at 7 pm.
Help create a legacy for the next generation by celebrating our heritage….
The Montezuma Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and protecting our town’s heritage. The Town is rich in both historic and natural resources and the Society is helping to develop and promote the Montezuma Heritage Park. If you are interested in becoming a member or becoming a Friend of the Montezuma Heritage Park by volunteering in the Park even if only for an hour, there are many ways to help out.
