Town of Montezuma Adopts First Comprehensive Plan

The Town of Montezuma has adopted the Town’s first Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, that addresses changes in land use, population, development and environmental resources.

The Plan represents a compilation of ideas and recommendations from the public based on a town-wide survey that was mailed to residents and input from a Comprehensive Planning Committee (CPC) including  Planning Board members and volunteer community residents. The plan will help guide future growth and development while maintaining the traditional, rural character of Montezuma.  To help guide the planning process, the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board (CNY RPDB) served as a consultant to the CPC with funding awarded through Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Cleaner, Greener Communities (CGC) program.

The Planning Board will now use the Plan to help the town implement several goals developed through the Plan.
